Rockwell Automation on Facebook & Twitter

The benefits of social media marketing is not easy to see for a B2B company such as Rockwell Automation. Rather rarely will Rockwell find direct new customers from Google search queries or from social media marketing. This makes it hard for someone in charge at Rockwell Automation to make the case to get funding for such projects.

As a Rockwell employee I am glad to see them on Facebook and Twitter. I think it has some major benefits including:

  • Brand establishing: Before becoming a Rockwell employee, I knew who Allen Bradley was but I did not know Rockwell Automation is the company behind the name. It is important to keep the name Rockwell Automation in various media and social media is becoming more and more important channel as technology advances and new engineers replace older employees.
  • HR (Hiring): Facebook is a great place to talk to potential new employees directly, keep them updated about job openings at Rockwell Automation, and possibly better understand whether the candidate is a good fit for the company or not.
  • HR (Current Employees): By getting involved in social media Rockwell Automation is more well known online and offline. It makes it easier for employees to show their support for the company by simply becoming a fan on Facebook or following Rockwell on Twitter. Being involved with social media is associated with “cool” “innovative” and “good” companies. So being active in these medias helps the employees take more pride in their employer since its a well known company around the “social media”.
